Overview
Our research focuses on the development of new imaging modalities for multimodal nonlinear microscopy. Currently we employ second-harmonic generation (SHG), third-harmonic generation (THG) and two photon excitation fluorescence (TPEF) contrast mechanisms, which are generated simultaneously after femtosecond pulse excitation. Our microscopes are tailored to image live cells and subcellular organelles non-invasively. We investigate ultrastructural properties of collagen, intracellular dynamics in photosynthetic systems, and contractility mechanisms in cardiac and skeletal muscle cells.
