Our General Reseearch Approach

The Stream & Wetland Ecohydrology Research Group studies the links and feedbacks between the hydrology, biogeochemistry, and ecology of stream and wetland ecosystems. Within a given climate and geologic context these processes control an ecosystem’s form and function within the landscape. The functions of an ecosystem ultimately provide the services society derives from these ecosystems. Through process-based analysis and experimentation in the field and lab settings our research group strives to quantify, maintain, and improve the ecosystem services we benefit from streams and wetlands, particularly in response to climate and land-use change.
