Luis Arias Medellin

Luis is a PhD student from Mexico, where he has worked in conservation and ecological restoration projects with cacti and agaves in tropical dry forests. His current project addresses the cascading effects of habitat loss and fragmentation on pollination, seed dispersal and plant population dynamics of the tropical understory plant species Heliconia tortuosa. When he's not in the lab, Luis likes to exercise, read, learn new languages and travel to get to know new places and people.
