WELCOME TO GAILL!

The Generative AI Literacies Lab (GAILL) examines how generative AI influences people’s literacy and literacy practices. We pay particular attention to literacy as a social practice—where people use their literacies as they act in and interact with the world. We are equally interested in understanding how generative AI affects the way learners develop literacies, create and share knowledge, and develop their own knowledge making processes.

To this end, we are interested in researching generative AI and literacies, and we place high value on putting that research into action through teaching in a variety of forums. We approach this teaching with an expanded view of learning that includes a range of learners, from the students in our classrooms to professionals who are developing new skillsets.

We are always open to collaborations with like-minded people, and we especially value student contributions to our work. Please reach out if you are interested in collaborating.
