Professor Soo Min Toh

Soo Min Toh is an Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the University of Toronto Mississauga, with a cross-appointment to the Organizational Behaviour and HR Management area at Rotman. She was Professorial Fellow at the University of Edinburgh Business School and visiting professor at the University of Goettingen. Soo Min’s research program focuses on understanding knowledge transfer between groups, expatriate management and the workplace experiences immigrant professionals. Her work involves studying companies and employees around the world, as well as community-based research working with non-for-profit organizations. Her research has been published in premier academic and practitioner journals in the disciplines of management and psychology, such as the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, and Psychological Science. She also serves(d) on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of World Business, and the Journal of International Business Studies. Soo Min has co-edited multiple books on global mobility and teaching social sustainability, and is frequently featured in the media. Soo Min was Director of the Institute for Management & Innovation and has taught around the world, including Iceland, Germany, and the UK.

Tianheng Zhang

Tianheng (Gavin) Zhang is a fourth-year undergraduate student doing a psychology research specialist. His research interests are mainly on social perception and impression formation, identity formation and dual identity, as well as social determinants of well-being. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and playing with his puppy.

Sunny (Xue) Xiang

FOURTH-YEAR PH.D STUDENT AT ROTMAN COMMERCE

Sunny (Xue) Xiang is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Her research investigates how organizations can create and shift narratives to drive behavioral and cultural changes, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as mental health and wellness. Specifically, Sunny examines the critical role of middle managers in this transformative process. Her work on the role of organizational diversity narratives in mobilizing the “frozen middle” has received the Best Paper Distinction from the Academy of Management’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion division. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and weightlifting.

Yik Hin Duncan Wan

 
Duncan is a second-year Rotman Commerce student specializing in management with a major in economics. He is eager to understand the intersections between management, social behavior, and DEI and reach data-driven conclusions. In his spare time, Duncan enjoys running and cooking.
 
 

Lucy Jeong

 
 
Lucy is a HBSc candidate in psychology and biology with a business fundamentals certificate. Her current research interest is organizational psychology, particularly organizational well-being and productivity and the influential role of leadership in promoting these areas. Additionally, she is interested in exploring the psychological aspects of social interactions among employees from diverse cultural backgrounds. She likes to spend time in nature, yoga, hang out with close friends, and read in her free time. 
 

Rohan Nair

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO
Rohan Nair is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Statistics. He has a keen interest in data analysis and pre-processing, with a focus on leveraging statistical methods and computational techniques to uncover insights from data and optimize decision-making processes for machine learning models. He loves to play all kinds of racquet sports and is aways up for a game.
 
 

Lina Wang

Lina Wang is a first-year graduate student in Adult Education and Community Development program at OISE. Her research interests are adult education and newcomers wellbeing, newcomers’ employability and family needs, intercultural communication, and community development in the digital age. She likes watching movies, reading, cooking, travelling, and playing with her kids and dog in her free time.
 
 

Ruth Alemayehu

Ruth Alemayehu (she/her) is a HBSc graduate from the University of Toronto Mississauga where she specialized in Neuroscience and majored in Biology for Health Sciences. Her research interests are in the social determinants of health and well-being, and diversity in the workplace. In her free time, she enjoys lifting weights and reading.

 

Li Lu

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO
Li Lu is a fourth-year student specializing in Finance and Economics with a minor in English Language Linguistics at the University of Toronto. With a deep interest in the influences of biases in the linguistics field,  he enjoys exploring how languages and perceptions intersects, particularly in business and organizational contexts. He is also an enthusiastic traveller, enjoyng the discovery of diverse cultures and cuisines. In his free time, he enjoys driving along the Grand Toronto Area and looking out for an afternoon tea.

 

 

Danni Xu

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO
Danni Xu is a final-year student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Economics and Statistics. She has strong data analysis skills, with experience in Python, R, SQL, and MATLAB. She is focusing on integrating machine learning techniques into data analysis. She enjoys reading, exploring different cuisines, and traveling.

 

 

Siddharth Bose

Siddharth Bose is a graduate student in the Masters of Science in Sustainability Management program. His research interests include sustainable consumer behavior, cultural differences in decision-making, and sustainable leadership. He likes traveling, exploring new restaurants, cooking, kayaking, and hiking. 
 
 
 

Irene He

Irene is a fourth-year student at UTM, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Her academic journey includes participating in several research labs, including economics, management, and health sciences. Beyond academics, Irene loves traveling and learning about different cultures. She has had enriching study abroad experiences in South Korea, South Africa, and England. Shayla Shewchuk

Shayla Shewchuk is a fourth-year student of Psychology, Biology, and Sociology, Shayla’s academic interests are in the Social Psychology of Emotion. Specifically, how emotion influences interpersonal interactions and relations, informs cognition to influence decision-making, judgement, and behaviour and manifests physiologically with implications for physical and psychological wellbeing and pathology. Hanniel Kim

Imran Syed

Imran is an International Ph.D. Fellow at the School of Human Resources Management, York University. He focuses on applied workplace research. He seeks to make theoretical and practical contributions at the intersection of strategic management, HR Management, and sustainability management. He is also keen on interdisciplinary research.
His research interests are still evolving. Broadly, his current research interests are Sustainable HR Management; the future of work, workforce, and workplace; Organizational Inequalities; and Artificial Intelligence in HR Management.

Bhavya Gandhi

Bhavya Gandhi is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying biology, environmental science, and biomedical communications. Bhavya enjoys applying his theoretical knowledge in these subject areas to his research interests and daily life. His evolving research interests currently lie in clinical research and pedagogy, as well as collectively exploring the impacts of these fields on human behaviour. In a broader sense, Bhavya finds interest in studying phenomena that can lead to beneficial outcomes in the community. In his spare time, Bhavya enjoys hiking, gardening, and 3D designing.

Melody Zhang is a research analyst at the University Health Network in Toronto. Having completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the psychology discipline at McGill University, she is interested in employer-employee relationships, employee burnout, stress, and adaptation to organizational changes (e.g., digital transformation). In particular, she is interested in examining these elements within healthcare organizations. Outside of research, Melody enjoys doing pilates and visiting new cafes.

Sanaz Matin Koosha

Sanaz is a PhD candidate in International Management and Organizations at Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada.  Her research is situated in Organizational Behaviour. Prior to her PhD program, Sanaz spent several years working as a project coordinator in Iran's Oil & Gas and Construction industries. As a female in male-dominated industries, Sanaz navigated several hurdles and demonstrated her capabilities in coordination and management. Her experiences have become her inspiration for her dissertation. Through her research, Sanaz hopes to help individuals experience a work life imbued with a sense of meaning and well-being.
