Welcome to the
Culture, Relationships, And Well-being Lab!
HUMANS are complex multi-faceted, ever-evolving beings with immense inherent potential. Our research seeks to understand human potential and the factors that influence this. Specifically, our lab is focused on issues related to culture, relationships, and well-being in various populations in the context of organizations, teams, and communities. We seek to understand individual and groups differences with the purpose of promoting inclusion, well-being, collaboration, and leadership. Our goal is to examine social-psychological processes and human behaviour not only for knowledge discovery but also to seek to improve the well-being of individuals and collectives, including couples, families, and social groups in practical ways that are informed by evidence.
OUR LAB takes management and social-psychological approaches to these issues, adopting multiple methods rangings from surveys, archival data analyses, interviews, and experiments. We hope our scientific endeavors can provide solutions to a range of organizational issues, including work recovery, work-family balance, intergroup cooperation, and diversity. We seek answers in a wide range of populations, including immigrants and refugees, families, teams, couples, leaders, and post-secondary students.
STUDENTS participate in weekly lab group (Culture, Relationships, and Well-being Lab: CRAWL) meetings with fellow students and senior researchers, e.g., postdocs, graduate students, and receive training on research methods, theory development, and statistical analysis. Our meetings are supportive and collaborative. All members in the lab group are encouraged to explore and contribute their own ideas and pursue lines of research that interest them.
A KEY VALUE of CRAWL is inclusion. Our group is intentional in creating a welcoming and brave space conducive for learning and creativity. Each member of CRAWL contributes to a culture of collaboration, mutual support, integrity, curiosity, and inclusion.
