On-Going Project at CRAWL

Workplace Violence Against Nurses

Nurses are especially vulnerable to verbal aggression and physical violence in the workplace: The unique nature of the provider-patient relationship presents complications when responding to aggression and violence. This project seeks to examine the causes of workplace violence against nurses, the strategies they use to navigate these situations, and the support they receive before, during, and after violent incidents.

By understanding nurses' experiences, we can propose evidence-based solutions to enhance safety, improve workplace policies, and better prepare nurses to handle and prevent violence.
